UAZ 3909 Expedition - Convert to camping van

After almost 8 months of waiting we will be receiving our UAZ 3909 Expedition within 2 weeks. The car is currently at the dealer and is awaiting the technical inspection and the necessary paperwork. Also, the side steps and the bull bar need to be mounted.

As stated in my introduction post, we will be converting the car for travelling purposes. Our first trip is planned at the beginning of April which leaves me only 4 weeks to prepare the car.

I'll document the work in this thread.

Attached are some pictures we received today. Next week I'll make a trip to the dealer to do some proper measuring so I can place an order for material (e.g. insulation, wood, heavy duty rails, ...).

Yes, we did! We did about 500 km in the first week.

I'm currently in the process of insulating the cargo bay and I'll start with the pull-out storage in the coming days. I'll post some pictures soon, but I'm busy designing everything in Sketchup and drawing the electrical schema.
